Necessary Series

1 – Necessary Tempatation
Only one night of sexual testing stands between Dawson Gray and his destiny. If he can endure a public ritual without succumbing to his desire for another man, he will claim his female mate and his future as head of his were-leopard pride. That future is in his grasp, until one man approaches…

Logan is an Unfree slave whose only chance at freedom is to become the warrior-mate of a Pride-born son. But there’s one thing Logan desires more than his freedom — Gray. This is his only chance to tempt the man he loves to his side. He’ll use every weapon at his disposal to prove to Gray that their feelings are more than desire, and that this night is the beginning of a shared destiny, not merely a necessary temptation.

2 – Necessary Seduction
Not everyone believes that two men are better than one…

But Mercy Howe knows what she wants. Caleb. In her bed, in her life. She’s loved the wereleopard warrior since he rescued her from the fire that killed her family. The fact that Caleb is warrior-mated to Kerrick, a male former Unfree slave, doesn’t matter. Mercy wants Kerrick too, and wants to carry on the traditions of the her pride, where females could have several mates.

But the Orion pride is different. The women are only allowed one mate and must remain celibate until their twenty-second birthday. Mercy is determined to change that, and a weekend in the city gives her the opportunity she needs. Now all she has to do is convince Caleb and Kerrick to let her into their hearts and their happy marriage. She sees her actions as a very, necessary seduction, but someone is watching, determined to kill Mercy before she taints the Orion pride.

The synopsis of this story made me wonder. I wasn’t sure how it could make much sense. Why would a culture require a public sexual display, let alone a gay public display, before allowing their members to choose a spouse? Especially since it was made clear that same-sex pairings were not frowned upon. Doubts aside, I decided to give it a try; and it is fantasy, after all.

All rational thought vanishes once Logan starts to really tempt Gray. He makes it so easy to cheer him on.
