Here is my list for those readers who are new to the M/M genre and are looking for a place to start. These titles most closely resemble mainstream fiction, representing various points of interests and containing well balanced storylines. Sexual content is either limited or paced so that it complements the story without “being” the story. For these characters, “coming out” plays little or no role in the overall storyline.
If you’ve read a story that you feel fits this criteria, please leave your comment at the bottom of this page. Suggestions will be updated as necessary.

I know it’s my own book, but I think Counterpoint (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8748031-counterpoint) is a good fit–it’s essentially plotty mainstream high fantasy with a romance in the middle of it that just happens to be between two males.

I’ll mention my own book (since I get very little time to read anyone else’s lately)…
Ranch Hands
and
Bernard; Diary of a 46-yr-old Bellhop
Both have one limited sex scene, the rest is building up the relationship.

I definitely have to rec Mary Calmes “Change of Heart” for paranormal. It’s simply a must read. The world building is amazing in that.

Just finished an historical one by MJ Pearson, Helpless, which although has very little explicit sex scenes, you do know that they are lovers. It’s set against the backdrop of the Oscar Wilde obscenity trial, very interesting.

Hey Foretta … I’ve read the first book in this series really liked it. How do the interviews relate? Keep meaning to catch up but haven’t had a chance yet.
Also … what does the stuff in the [ ] after the title and couples mean? I think I get the publisher abbr but not how it relates to calibre.
